of La Lupe are extremenly rare.
Ive been trying for many years to get any
kind of footage from around the world.
THE GOOD NEWS IS:
1. I made a compilation of rare b/w and
color footage.
2. Also have an excellent Spanish
documentary from Venezuela.
3. Just acquired a video that is a GEM.

 | LUPE #3 - "THE VIDEO GEM"
The Rise & Fall of La Lupe and Finding
her Peace with Jesus. This video takes
place in a Pentecostal church during the
last years of her life. She was quite heavy,
broke, found Jesus & become a reborn
Christian. She sang and gave sermons
in various churches. La Lupe sings 4
christian songs on this video.
BUT what makes this a real collectors
gem is her incredible testimonial. It is a
chilling account of her life. The Lupe #2
is a great documentary, but this is Lupes
life in her very own words. As the old
American saying goes, . . . "It is coming
right from the horses mouth"
She talks about her early childhood in
Cuba, mistreated by her stepmother,
starting a singing career, forced to get
married by her father, a husband that
not only took up with another woman
but threw her out of the band. Coming
to the USA, her first start with Mongo
Santamaria, getting into the Santeria
religion with Tito Puente, her rise to
fame, money and possessions and
then her downhill slide and all the
betrayals she suffered along the way.
It is a chilling and tragic story. And yet,
she survived. She was even able to
make a few humorous remarks. | • Lupe makes various gestures and facial expressions as she talks to me about her life during a Latin NY interview.

• On stage with Hector Lavoe and Jerry Masucci at a concert.
